MOTUL TRANSMISSION CLEAN is a pre-drain transmission cleaner designed to be used in all types of manual and automated gearboxes, and in all types of automatic transmissions, conventional with torque converters (AT), with dual clutch transmission (DCT) or with continuously variable transmission (CVT). MOTUL TRANSMISSION CLEAN effectively cleans deposits, sludge and varnish which appear on the transmission components. The removed micro-particles are then evacuated during the process of oil drain. MOTUL TRANSMISSION CLEAN provides a perfect lubrication during cleaning process.

MOTUL TRANSMISSION CLEAN added to transmission oil before changing allows:

• To effectively and quickly clean all types of transmissions during maintenance to guarantee the properties and quality of the new oil that will be used after maintenance.
• Dissolve deposits, sludge, varnish and debris from gearboxes and reduce wear to improve the operation and durability of the transmission.
• Removing deposits, varnish and other debris from risk areas such as synchronisers, tappets, actuators, etc. And hydraulic solenoid valves to ensure optimum operation of the gearbox and reduce fuel consumption.

In case of maintenance with automated machinery:

MOTUL TRANSMISSION CLEAN is a product specially developed to clean all types of transmissions during the maintenance process. This gearbox cleaner is particularly suitable for use in automatic machines that are part of the MOTUL EVO concept, fully automated machines for cleaning and emptying automatic gearboxes. TRANSMISSION CLEAN can also be used in other similar automatic gearbox cleaning equipment available on the market. In any case, the machine manufacturer's recommendations for use should always be followed

In the case of maintenance without an automated machine:

When no cleaning machine is used, before changing the transmission oil, add a can of MOTUL TRANSMISSION CLEAN to the oil used in the gearbox via the oil level plug or filler plug. Start the engine and let it idle for 10 - 15 minutes to acquire the gearbox's normal operating temperature.

Once the gearbox is at working temperature, drain the gearbox oil according to the manufacturer's instructions and change the gearbox oil filter if necessary. The vehicle must remain stationary during the cleaning process.

Regardless of the maintenance method used, the contents of one can of TRANSMISSION CLEAN are sufficient for a crankcase capacity of up to 10 litres. In the case of a larger capacity, add 50 ml of TRANSMISSION CLEAN for every additional litre of oil (over 10 litres).

To ensure the best possible performance from the transmission, MOTUL TRANSMISSION CLEAN can be used for every service. In the case of a very dirty transmission, do not increase the dose for more than 2 successive treatments.

Tests carried out on different vehicles clearly show the ability of MOTUL TRANSMISSION CLEAN to thoroughly clean transmissions. In more than 95 per cent of cases, oil samples taken from vehicles that used TRANSMISSION CLEAN in the draining process found a higher iron content, which reflects greater transmission cleanliness.
