MOTUL NGEN 4 10W-40 5L is a synthetic and sustainable engine oil, combining good performance with environmental sustainability. It is approved by Renault, VW, and Mercedes and PSA performance, offering complete protection, cleanliness and economy in petrol or diesel engines, both turbocharged and naturally aspirated. It can be used in catalytic converters, LPG, ethanol and biofuels.
Innovative and long-lasting synthetic engine lubricant based on a combination of synthetic base oils and additives, combined with premium quality regenerated base oils. This cutting-edge formulation is part of a new sustainable concept from Motul that combines the use of regenerated oils, i.e. oils recovered from engine oils, and the use of Motul packaging made from 50% recycled plastic and 100% recyclable. As part of its sustainable development strategy, MOTUL NGEN is the common name used to describe Motul's range of sustainable lubricants, which use different technologies in formulations and packaging to reduce their carbon footprint. This specific formula is specially designed for medium-aged cars with petrol and diesel engines, naturally aspirated or supercharged, with carburettor or injection, direct or indirect injection, with or without a catalytic converter. Suitable for all types of fuels: leaded or unleaded petrol, ethanol, LPG, diesel and biofuels. Compatible with catalytic converters.
The ACEA B4 standard requires that the lubricant have excellent detergent/dispersant properties and better resistance to viscosity increase due to soot produced in direct injection diesel engines (except engines with injection pumps from the VAG group (VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat and Cupra), for which the best recommendation is MOTUL 8100 XCLEAN 5W-40).
API SP grade lubricants provide excellent oxidation resistance, better deposit protection and improved engine cleanliness, excellent wear protection and better low-temperature performance for fuel economy, a feature that is maintained throughout the life of the engine oil. In addition to being backward compatible, compared to API SN and API SN Plus, the API SP specification provides higher performance and, most importantly, adds protection against LSPI for petrol engines, turbocharged engines with direct injection, low displacement and high performance.
RENAULT has developed the RN0700 approval for oils capable of providing high thermal stability and ensuring excellent resistance to high temperatures. In general, the RN0700 approval applies to all naturally aspirated petrol engines (except Renault Sport) of the RENAULT Group (RENAULT and DACIA). The RN0700 standard also applies to all RENAULT vehicles equipped with a 1.5 dCi diesel engine without FAP <100 hp with oil change intervals of 20,000 km or 1 year. VOLKSWAGEN's official approvals guarantee the development and quality of the product manufacturing process, especially with regard to antioxidant, anti-wear, anti-corrosion and anti-foam properties.
The MB 229.3 specification is more stringent than 229.1 in terms of ageing resistance (extended oil change interval: controlled by on-board computer) and fuel economy. Performance: fuel consumption savings improved by 1.2% compared to a reference RL 15W-40 oil. The MB 229.3 standard applies to most MERCEDES petrol engines and most MERCEDES diesel engines without DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).
PSA's B71 2300 standard requires oil to be able to withstand more severe conditions, such as high thermal loads, in order to lubricate some of its petrol engines and some diesel engines without DPF. The reinforced sustainable synthetic base provides very high lubricating power that reduces friction, reduces volatility and ensures resistance to the very high temperatures reached in modern engines. The SAE 10W-40 viscosity grade is fully suitable for recent petrol and diesel engines. It has high antioxidant, anti-wear, anti-corrosion and anti-foaming properties.
