MOTUL SPECIFIC 17 5W-30 is a 100% synthetic oil approved by Renault RN17, ideal for new generation petrol and diesel engines (since 2018). Compatible with DPF, GPF and SCR, it offers maximum protection, engine cleanliness and thermal stability. Its Mid-SAPS formulation extends the life of after-treatment systems and reduces fuel consumption.
Lubricant specifically designed for certain new-generation vehicles from the RENAULT group (Renault and Dacia) manufactured since 2018 with petrol or diesel engines that require oil that complies with RENAULT's RN17 standard. In addition to complying with RN17, MOTUL SPECIFIC 17 5W-30 meets the requirements of RN0710 and RN0700 standards, so it can be used in older generation engines that require them.
Diesel engines not compatible with RN17 manufactured before September 2018, which exceed EURO 6d regulations, must use lubricants with the RN0720 specification, such as MOTUL SPECIFIC 0720 5W-30. MOTUL SPECIFIC 17 5W-30 is compatible with DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), catalytic converters and GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter).
Some engines cannot use this type of lubricant. If in doubt, always consult the vehicle maintenance manual.
RENAULT has developed RN17 for lubricants that must withstand very demanding temperature limits while being compatible with decontamination systems.
It meets the most demanding performance and durability requirements through the new ‘Long Life Renault’ (LLR) testing method.
The RN17 standard applies to all RENAULT petrol engines (except RS and Alpine), latest-generation diesel engines (Euro 6d since 2018), as well as all diesel engines without DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).
The RN17 standard does not apply to diesel engines that require RN0720.
The low levels of sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur (Mid-SAPS) enable MOTUL SPECIFIC 17 5W-30 to protect and extend the service life of after-treatment systems such as DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), which allows the treatment of NOx (nitrogen oxides) thanks to the use of AdBlue®, also known as ‘diesel exhaust fluid’.
The 100% synthetic base provides high thermal stability and ensures good resistance to high temperatures. Prevents the formation of varnish and deposits, keeping the engine clean. Reduces the sticking effect of the piston rings. Maximum engine protection and lubricant performance, even under very severe conditions. Low volatility to reduce lubricant consumption; exceptional resistance to oil oxidation, increasing the maintenance interval recommended by the manufacturer.
Change interval: according to the manufacturer's recommendations and specific conditions of use.
Do not mix with non RN17 approved oils.
Before use or in case of doubt, always consult the vehicle owner's or maintenance manual.
