MOTUL 4100 SYN-NERGY SPEC 10W-40 is a Technosynthese® synthetic oil for light petrol and diesel engines, turbocharged or naturally aspirated. With OEM performance for Mercedes, Renault, VW and PSA, it complies with ACEA A3/B4 and API SP standards, ensuring protection against wear, oxidation, deposits and LSPI.
Advanced synthetic Technosynthese® lubricant for high engine protection. Recommended by most European light vehicle manufacturers, such as MERCEDES, the VAG Group (Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat and Cupra), the STELLANTIS Group (Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel, Vauxhall, FCA Fiat-Chrysler) and RENAULT. Specifically designed for cars equipped with petrol and diesel engines, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, with direct or indirect injection. Provides high engine protection and protects against the risks of abnormal LSPI (Low Speed Pre-Ignition) combustion. Suitable for all types of commercial fuels: leaded and unleaded petrol, ethanol, LPG, diesel and biofuels. Compatible with catalytic converters.
The ACEA B4 standard requires excellent detergent/dispersant power and improved resistance to viscosity increase due to soot produced in direct injection diesel engines (except engines with pump injectors from the VAG group (VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat and Cupra), for which MOTUL 8100 X-CLEAN 5W-40 is the best recommendation).
API PERFORMANCE SP
The API SP standard is fully compatible with the API SN standard and all previous API levels. API SP level lubricants offer excellent oxidation resistance, better protection against deposit formation, better engine cleanliness, excellent anti-wear protection and better low-temperature performance to save fuel throughout the oil's service life.
Supercharged direct injection petrol engines are at risk of sporadic self-ignition in the combustion chambers. This type of sporadic abnormal combustion causes vibrations in the piston, connecting rod and crankshaft assembly and is often associated with a brief loss of power. This phenomenon, known as LSPI (Low Speed Pre-Ignition) or ‘knocking at low revs’, generates very high pressure peaks out of time in the combustion chamber, which can cause damage to the piston and, in extreme cases, destruction of the engine. The API SP standard now requires characteristics to prevent the LSPI effect and better protect supercharged direct injection petrol engines.
CV with oil change intervals of 20,000 km or 1 year. Before use, always consult the vehicle's instruction or maintenance manual.
The MB 229.3 specification is more stringent than 229.1 in terms of ageing resistance (extended oil change interval: controlled by on-board computer) and fuel economy. Performance: fuel consumption savings improved by 1.2% compared to a reference RL 15W-40 oil. The MB 229.3 standard applies to most MERCEDES petrol engines and most MERCEDES diesel engines without DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).
The PSA Group, for its B71 2300 standard, requires an oil that can withstand the most severe conditions. Thermal limitations for lubricating some of its petrol engines and some diesel engines without DPF.
RENAULT RN0710 - RN0700
RENAULT has developed the RN0700 standard for oils capable of providing high thermal stability and ensuring excellent resistance to high temperatures.
In general, the RN0700 standard applies to all naturally aspirated petrol engines (except Renault Sport) from the RENAULT Group (RENAULT and DACIA). The RN0700 standard also applies to all RENAULT vehicles equipped with a 1.5 dCi diesel engine without FAP <100 hp with an oil change interval of 20,000 km or 1 year. Before use, always consult the owner's manual or vehicle manual.
The Renault RN0710 standard applies to all turbo petrol, Renault Sport and Diesel engines without DPF from the RENAULT Group (Renault and Dacia). The RN0710 specification does not apply to RENAULT Diesel vehicles equipped with 1.5 L dCi engines without DPF with a power rating of less than 100 hp and an oil change interval of 20,000 km or 1 year that specifically require an RN0700 lubricant. For the 2.2L dCi with DPF, use only an RN0710-approved lubricant and not RN0720.
VW 501 01 505 00
VOLKSWAGEN's official approvals guarantee the development and quality of the product manufacturing process, especially with regard to antioxidant, anti-wear, anti-corrosion and anti-foam properties.
The reinforced Technosynthese® synthetic base of MOTUL 4100 SYN-nergy SPEC 10W-40 provides high lubricating power that reduces friction, decreases volatility and ensures resistance to the very high temperatures reached in modern engines, designed to perfectly meet the numerous specifications of manufacturers.
Change interval: according to the manufacturer's recommendations and specific conditions of use.
Can be mixed with synthetic or mineral oils.
Before use or in case of doubt, always consult the vehicle owner's or maintenance manual.
